A lower leg injury finished Stanford Cardinal FB Daniel Marx

STANFORD (AP) — A lower leg injury has finished the season of Stanford fullback Daniel Marx, Cardinal head coach David Shaw announced Tuesday.

“It’s tough,” Shaw said. “Daniel has had a phenomenal year. This is a guy who is going to play on Sundays. He’s that good — a very versatile football player.”

There has a few team remain using fullback in college football division as Stanford and the man is Marx, the big man, he has demolished opposition with his 6-foot-2, 254-pound figure to pave the way for running back McCaffrey, who leads the Pac-12 with 1,546 rushing yards.

Due to lower leg injury the Stanford bring senior Chris Harrell in place of Marx. On Saturday, Cardinal make a historical win in Stanford’s 35-22 over California. Now the coach and McCaffrey both are hopeful to see how much the senior will effective for team.

Shaw said, “We have a lot of faith in Chris. We have a combination of guys we may use at that position. Chris has prepared as a starter.”

Chris is a 6-foot-4, 244-pound figure man. Can he do the job as McCaffrey could?

“We have a lot of faith in Chris,” Shaw said. “We have a combination of guys we may use at that position. Chris has prepared as a starter.”

Stanford’s cornerback Ronnie Harris is also questionable for this Saturday’s game against Notre Dame due to ankle injury. But he has a “50-50” chance Shaw said.

Should Stanford knock off Notre Dame? The fact is competition is in its home stretch, already Stanford has beaten both UCLA and USC this season and has owned the Bruins over the past four seasons.
